The Armed Forces Banner Program was started by the City of Simi Valley to honor and recognize the city's military members. Banners are placed on street light poles around the City.
Requirements
To be honored, a person must be a current or former resident of Simi Valley and meet one of these requirements:
- Be on active duty in any branch of the United States Armed Forces, including active Reserves or National Guard; or
- A fallen service member in any United States conflict; or
- Have served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces from September 2001 until deactivation.
Application
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and installed twice a year: Apply for a banner application (PDF).
Banners will be displayed as noted in the banner application.
