The Community Projects Grant (CPG) Program is made available through an agreement between the City and Waste Management to fund community projects and programs that benefit Simi Valley. The grant program provides approximately $150,000 to local 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations. Funding is disbursed at the recommendation of the CPG Review Committee, with final discretion of the City Council.

Fiscal Year 2026-27 Funding Cycle

Application Period for Projects

The application period for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-27 funding cycle closed on January 30, 2026. 

Review Committee

The application period for the at-large community representative to serve on the CPG Review Committee closed on February 16, 2026.

The Review Committee is tentatively scheduled to meet on April 15th and April 22nd, 2026.

The CPG Review Committee reviews funding requests from local 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations for projects and programs serving the community and makes recommendations to the City Council for funding awards. The CPG Review Committee consists of one representative from each of the four Neighborhood Councils, one representative from the Council on Aging, one representative from the Youth Council, and one representative from the community at-large. Representatives are nominated by their representing committee and are appointed by the City Council. Terms for the representatives end when the City Council award the annual funding. 

Informational Workshop for Interested Organizations

A voluntary informational workshop was held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. The workshop will provided an overview of the program’s application and review process. The PowerPoint presentation can be accessed on our website for anyone who was unable to attend.

Annual Awards

On May 11, 2026, the City Council awarded funds for FY 2026-27 to Body Brain Train, Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark & Simi Valley, For the Need Foundation, GiGi's Playhouse Simi Valley, Many Mansions, Sarah's House, Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, Simi Valley Football Booster Club, Simi Valley Library Foundation, The Samaritan Center, and Vets & Valor.
