Mission StatementThe mission of the Simi Valley Council On Aging (COA), an advisory body elected by senior citizens and appointed by the Simi Valley City Council, is to identify the needs of senior citizens in this community. The Council On Aging serves as an advocate to support programs and services providing seniors with maximum independence, safety and quality of life. (Adopted October 10, 1994)
Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA) Advisory Council Application (Due, May 1, 2018)
We need you!!!!
Apply to represent Simi Valley at the County level as a member of the VCAAA Advisory Council. As a Council member, you will work with public and private partners to identify and prioritize programs and services intended to enhance the quality of life for Ventura County residents aged 60 and over and persons with disabilities.
The VCAAA’s Advisory Council meetings are held six times a year on the second Wednesday of the month. Meeting months are January, March, May, July, September, and November from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Advisory Council meetings are open to the public. Location of the meetings are, Ventura County Area Agency on Aging, 646 County Square Drive, Ventura, CA 93003-9086.
Volunteer of the Year Award
The Wayne Templeton Volunteer of the Year Award will be given to an outstanding volunteer who has given service to the Simi Valley Senior Center in the past year(s).
