The City of Simi Valley recognizes the value of a strong business community. Nationally, over 70% of employment growth in a community is the result of the retention and expansion of existing businesses. Existing businesses make investments in facilities, create jobs, and provide a support network that is at the heart of a strong local economy. A key element of a strong business community is a proactive, business-friendly, non-bureaucratic government.
For these reasons, the Simi Valley Office of Economic Development initiated a Business Visitation Program with the goal of enhancing lines of communication with Simi Valley's business community. The Program allows the Economic Development staff to spend a brief amount of time learning about the particular challenges and opportunities of Simi Valley's businesses and their operations. It is hoped that the City can learn more about business concerns and issues, anticipate any needs or problems confronting the business community, and how the City can help businesses succeed. With the knowledge gained, the City will be better equipped to represent the interests of Simi Valley businesses. The Program is also intended to provide business owners and management with a single point of contact within City government.
The Office of Economic Development invites business owners and managers to participate in the Business Visitation Program.
