Overview
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center opened in 1995. It is in a historic building on the corner of Los Angeles Avenue and Church Street. The Center is an important place for the arts in the region. It hosts theater, dance, music, and visual art. It is also a space for the community, where people can hold meetings, conferences, and special events. The City of Simi Valley owns and runs the building through the City Manager’s Office.
The Center puts on its own shows, hosts visiting performances, and rents space to others. More than 350 events happen there each year. These include musicals, concerts, craft fairs, art exhibits, business meetings, and weddings.

Mission
The Cultural Arts Center has two main goals:

To provide a space for performances like music, theater, dance, films, and talks, as well as meetings, classes, and workshops.

To support and encourage arts and education programs that improve life for people in Simi Valley and nearby areas.
2021-25 Strategic Plan
In July 2021, the City Council approved a five-year plan for the Center. The plan focuses on six areas: quality of life, sustainability, programs, marketing and community outreach, the building and visitor experience, and support for the arts.

Description of Facilities
The building has three levels: the Lower Floor, Main Floor, and Balcony.

Main Floor: Includes the main lobby, snack area, main gallery, and theater.

Lower Floor: Includes a multipurpose room, a second gallery, restrooms, dressing rooms, and a green room. There is also a kitchen for events like meetings and weddings. The multipurpose room can seat 70–90 people for meals and up to 125 for other events. The box office and offices are also on this floor.

Balcony: Has additional seating for the theater.
Rentals
The Center can be rented for performances, concerts, meetings, and private events. It includes:

A 175-seat main stage theater

A 78-seat black box theater/multipurpose room

Dressing rooms

Gallery space

A catering kitchen

Parking
It can be used for events like seminars, receptions, weddings, holiday parties, and more.

Simi Valley Arts Commission
The Arts Commission helps support and promote the arts in the community. They plan programs, look for funding, apply for grants, and review plans for the Cultural Arts Center. Their goal is to make the arts an important part of life for everyone.
They meet four times a year at 3:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of February, April, September, and November.
Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center Foundation
The Foundation raises money to support the Cultural Arts Center. It has 21 members, including some chosen by the City Council. The Foundation helps fund programs, arts education, and “Share the Arts,” which gives free tickets to people with low income and to adults with disabilities. It also hosts the annual Simi Valley Spotlight Awards.
The Foundation meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Center.
