On June 8, 2026, the City Council unanimously voted to place a measure on the November 2026 ballot, that if approved by the voters,  would increase the City's Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT), commonly known as the hotel tax, from 10% to 12% for overnight stays at hotels and other short-term lodging accommodations. If approved by local voters, the measure is estimated to generate approximately $400,000 annually to support City services and infrastructure, including public safety and street and road maintenance. The City’s current hotel tax rate has remained unchanged for more than 30 years.
