Presentations on Immigration Resources and Public Safety featured at the Council Meeting on December 15, 2025

Post Date:12/11/2025 3:36 p.m.

The community is invited to attend the Simi Valley City Council meeting on December 15, 2025, to hear two informational presentations, including an overview of immigration resources available to community members and a presentation from the Simi Valley Police Department on its public safety practices.

The first presentation, delivered by Interface Children & Family Services, will highlight the immigration-related services, referrals, and support programs accessible to community members throughout Ventura County. This includes Ventura County 2-1-1, an Interface program that provides local resources, general information, and statewide information for immigrants. The goal is to ensure community members are aware of the resources available and how to access assistance.

The second presentation will be provided by Police Chief Steve Shorts, who will share information about the Police Department’s approach to public safety, current practices, and its commitment to serving Simi Valley.

“Our department is dedicated to being accessible and responsive,” said Police Chief Steve Shorts. “This presentation is an opportunity to address some of the top questions we’ve received in recent months and provide clarity about our approach to public safety and how we serve our community.”

Both presentations are informational and intended to enhance community understanding of available services and the City’s ongoing public safety efforts.

The City Council meeting will be held on Monday, December 15, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road. Residents may attend in person or watch the meeting live on the City’s website at www.simivalley.org, stream it on the City’s official YouTube channel, or view it on Spectrum Channel 10 and AT&T U-verse Channel 99.

The City also maintains a dedicated webpage with links to community information, immigration resources, and local support agencies, available at www.simivalley.org. Visit www.simivalley.org/CityCouncil for the upcoming City Council meeting agenda.
