Ventura County is in extreme drought conditions with record low precipitation over the past year. Due to excellent planning, and significant investments in regional water storage, Simi Valley is not anticipating mandating reductions in water usage at this time. Residents and business managers are requested to maintain and implement feasible water efficiency measures to preserve our precious water resources. Should the drought persist, more conservation will not only be encouraged, but perhaps required.
Residents and business managers are encouraged to take advantage of rebate programs available to further improve on water use efficiency while saving money. A turf-removal rebate of $2/sq. ft. is available, as are free online courses in turf removal, landscape design, and California-friendly and native plants at www.bewaterwise.com.
