During the Coronavirus emergency, the City of Simi Valley has taken action to provide financial safeguards for our residents. Customers of Waterworks District No. 8, who are unable to pay their water bill due to financial hardship, will not have their water turned off, and any late fees will be waived, as adopted by the City Council on Monday, March 16, in its Declaration of Emergency.
Additionally, the City has issued an Order placing a moratorium on evictions for tenants of commercial and residential properties in the City who are unable to pay due to the Coronavirus emergency.
The City Council recognizes that many of our residents have been financially impacted by the Coronavirus emergency and want to provide support so our community members do not have to worry about losing basic needs, such as water and housing during this time.
Please visit www.simivalley.org/covid19, the Safeguards for Residents tab, to view the Declaration of Emergency and Stay on Evictions documents for more information. Also, please visit the Resources for Residents tab, for additional resources that may assist in easing the financial burden during the Coronavirus emergency.
