The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce, Cal Lutheran’s Hub101, the City of Simi Valley, and the Youth Employment Service are announcing a presentation and speaker event for the startup community: Inspire Entrepreneurship. The event will feature a presentation from Mike Panesis, Executive Director of Cal Lutheran’s Center for Entrepreneurship, and two keynote speeches from local entrepreneurs: Tom Holt, founder of Urbane Café, and Dorina Timbol, founder of Platinum Sports Center. It will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center.
Inspire Entrepreneurship is a free event open to anyone who has started, or is interested in starting, their own business. The event will begin with a welcome from the Mayor of Simi Valley, Keith Mashburn, followed by a presentation on angel investing from Mike Panesis. The keynote speakers will then take the stage, with Tom Holt sharing his story of starting Urbane Café, a major player in the fast casual restaurant scene, and Dorina Timbol talking about her shift from real estate to opening a world-class training ground for gymnasts. A networking mixer will immediately follow the presentations, so be prepared to pitch your startup idea!
“The Inspire Entrepreneurship event is designed to engage the startup community here in Simi Valley,” says Rob West, Chair of the Youth Employment Service Business Incubator Committee and an entrepreneur himself. West continued, “It’s a great opportunity to mix with other like-minded startup-types, learn about angel investing, and to see what it takes to start a successful business.”
The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center is located at 3050 Los Angeles Ave. Attendance is free with a R.S.V.P. by registering at this link: http://bit.ly/InspireEntrepreneurship.
