City Announces Appointment of City Clerk

Interim City Manager Brian P. Gabler today announced the appointment of Lucy Blanco to the position of City Clerk, effective Monday, October 14, 2019.
Ms. Blanco was selected from a competitive field of highly-qualified candidates following a rigorous recruitment and selection process which began in July. Blanco has over 20 years of experience in local government and seven years of experience as a professional City Clerk. Blanco has served as the City of Santa Paula’s elected City Clerk while concurrently holding the position of Deputy City Clerk. Prior to joining the City Clerk’s office, Blanco also worked in the City of Santa Paula’s Public Works, Building and Safety and Planning Departments.
“Lucy’s experience in a fast paced City Clerk’s Office and her ability to manage competing priorities, in addition to her proven experience as a professional Municipal Clerk make her an excellent fit for the City of Simi Valley’s dynamic environment,” Interim City Manager Brian P. Gabler said.
Blanco holds an Associate of Arts degree from Ventura College, is a Certified Municipal Clerk, and is a Notary Public. She is an active community volunteer who believes in giving back. Lucy has a son, Edgar, and a beloved Chihuahua, Molly.
