Important Changes for Business Tax

On November 13, 2017, the City Council approved a $4 increase in annual Business Registration fees to accommodate the State of California’s mandate for Certified Access Specialist (disability access) programs and services (CASP). Find out more about CASP.  For annual business renewals, the renewal fee increases from $15 to $19 effective January 1, 2018.
Per City Council action taken on November 21, 2016, the business tax waiver that has been in place since January 1, 2012, ends on December 31, 2017.  This affects businesses reporting annual gross receipts under $300,000. 
Effective January 1, 2018, business tax rates will be reinstated as follows:

Annual Gross Receipts $0 - $20,000; Business Tax due $15.00
Annual Gross Receipts $20,001 - $300,000; Business Tax due $50.00
In addition to the business taxes due, an annual renewal fee of $19.00 is required.
