The Community Resource Coordination meetings began in 2017 and are intended to identify needs within the community and to assist those experiencing homelessness. The City organizes meetings on an as-needed basis to further the community's homeless prevention efforts. Once a topic has been identified, staff will coordinate a meeting with various organizations to provide opportunities to stay informed about new or existing resources available within our community. Information for upcoming meetings, as well as, previously discussed topics are available below. Those interested in receiving meeting and other information related to the Community Resource Coordination efforts are encouraged to sign up to receive email notifications to get the latest information.

The City of Simi Valley has $150,000 in funding available for community projects and programs to be completed between July 2016 and June 2017. Local 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations serving Simi Valley are encouraged to apply for grant awards ranging from $25,000 to $150,000 to support new or ongoing programs and/or capital projects. Funding eligibility is limited to direct costs associated with the program or project.

Incorporated 501 (c)(3)

Disclosure of Headquarters Location

Disclosure of Satellite Locations

Single application per organization and/or Joint applications for non-duplicative scope

- Grant Awards

$25,000 to $150,000

- Detailed Scope of Work Should Include the Following

Benefit to Simi Valley

Ability to complete the project within the expenditure period

How Community needs are being met

Provide direct cost detail

Deadline: March 21, 2016, 11:59 p.m.

Award Announcement: May 2016

Organizations may submit a funding application now through March 21 by clicking here.

The grant is made available through an agreement between the City and Waste Management to fund community projects and programs that benefit Simi Valley. Funding will be awarded by the City Council at a public meeting in May.
