The Community Resource Coordination meetings began in 2017 and are intended to identify needs within the community and to assist those experiencing homelessness. The City organizes meetings on an as-needed basis to further the community's homeless prevention efforts. Once a topic has been identified, staff will coordinate a meeting with various organizations to provide opportunities to stay informed about new or existing resources available within our community. Information for upcoming meetings, as well as, previously discussed topics are available below. The Task Force on Homelessness was established by the City Council in 1999 to address the issue of homelessness in Simi Valley.  The Simi Valley City Council and Task Force on Homelessness adopted a proactive goal to reduce homelessness in Simi Valley by 10% annually.  This goal is part of a national, state, and countywide 10-year Strategy to End Homelessness.  The Task Force on Homelessness coordinates the distribution of resources to assist homeless individuals, those at-risk of homelessness, and those in need.

The Task Force on Homelessness is currently seeking a representative who has been homeless in the past or is currently homeless within the City of Simi Valley.  If you or someone you know is interested, please click here to submit the application. The application deadline is February 3, 2015, for the term commencing in March. One homeless representative will be selected through an interview process and appointed by the City Council.

The Task Force on Homelessness meetings are open to the public and meet quarterly. The next meeting is scheduled for February 12, 2015 at 3:30 p.m.
