The City of Simi Valley is accepting applications for one Commissioner position to represent the interests of the City’s housing needs on the Area Housing Authority of the County of Ventura (AHACV) Board of Commissioners. Interested residents may apply online at www.simivalley.org/AHACommissioner. The application deadline is Thursday, July 31, 2025.
The AHACV is an independent, non-profit agency serving the residents of Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, and the unincorporated areas of Ventura County. Its primary mission is to provide opportunities and assistance to individuals and families in need of affordable housing. The Board is responsible for establishing policies, overseeing finances and operations, and providing general oversight for the AHACV.
A two-member City Council committee will interview and nominate one prospective Commissioner to the City Council for appointment in September 2025. The appointed Simi Valley Commissioner's term will commence on October 1, 2025, and conclude on September 30, 2029. The Board meets at 3:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month, or as otherwise scheduled.
