The Ventura Regional Fire Safe Council, in partnership with Supervisor Parvin, invite residents to attend a free community workshop focused on wildfire preparedness and the new Zone O regulations on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in the Rancho Santa Susana Community Center’s Multipurpose Room B, located at 5005 East Los Angeles Avenue. The informative workshop, to be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., will include what “Zone O” is and whether it applies to their property, steps to harden homes against wildfire threats, how upcoming changes to regulations could affect residents in Fire Hazard Severity Zones, and ways every resident can contribute to wildfire prevention and community resilience.
This hour-long workshop also provides attendees the opportunity to ask questions, get clarity on new requirements, and take proactive steps to safeguard their homes and neighborhood.
Funding for this project is provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s (CAL FIRE) Wildfire Prevention Grants Program. This initiative is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide effort using Cap-and-Trade dollars to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, strengthen the economy, and improve public health especially in disadvantaged communities.
