Youth Summit
Each year, the Youth Council hosts a Youth Summit annual leadership conference. Youth Summit participants are inspired by a motivational speaker, participate in team building and leadership exercises, learn the importance of community involvement, and share lunch while discussing community issues and ideas with local dignitaries. The event takes place on a school day. It is recognized as an educational activity by the Simi Valley Unified School District and is an approved absence with prior teacher approval. The 2012 Youth Summit brought together over 130 students from eight different high schools to discuss teen issues and develop leadership and community engagement. Participants must submit application and parent/guardian release forms in advance. Stay tuned to this website for more information regarding the 2013 Youth Summit, expected to be held in February 2013.
