The General Plan is a long-range policy document that sets forth broad goals and objectives for the growth and development of the City. As required by State law, the updated General Plan takes a long-term view and is designed to guide growth and development in the City over the next 20 – 25 years. The process of updating the General Plan includes many events that seek the participation of residents, businesses, and property owners. It also includes many steps in a complex process that takes the General Plan from vision, to creation, to adoption by the Simi Valley City Council. If you would like more information on the General Plan and update process, please visit the General Plan/Update Process section.
