The City of Simi Valley seeks to obtain products and services required by the City at the lowest price. To accomplish this goal, competitive bids and
proposals are solicited from vendors on an as-needed basis.Under the City's purchasing ordinance, all purchases or contracts for supplies, equipment, maintenance services or public projects with an
estimated value between $25,001 and $100,000 require the use of an informal bid, and contracts estimated to be over $100,000 are required to use the formal bid process. Both, informal and formal bid procedures
require that:
- Notices inviting bids describe the bid items in general terms, reference how to obtain more detailed information about the bid items, and state the date, time and place for submission of sealed bids;
- Sealed bids be submitted to the Purchasing Agent;
- Bids be opened publicly at the time and place stated in the notice inviting bids; and
- Contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder.
Notices concerning Requests for Proposals may be included in the listing below, however, since cost is not necessarily the primary basis for award, Requests for Proposals are not publicly opened and declared. In an effort to promote the competitive bidding environment, below is a listing of all informal and formal projects currently being solicited. Open market bids are not included in this list. For
information on open market bids, please contact the operating departments or purchasing. The bids and requests for proposals are available as an Adobe Acrobat document. You
will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these documents. If you do not already have Adobe Acrobat software, it is available as a free download from Adobe. Click here to download Adobe Acrobat Reader
