Fire officials have confirmed that the Rye Fire now poses no threat to the City of Simi Valley. Based on that information the City's Emergency Operations Center has closed. Fire and Police Department personnel will be closely monitoring the City for potential fire threats throughout forecasted wind events. Please immediately report any suspicious activity observed in brush and wild land interface areas of the City by calling 911.

When you call or visit the Department of Public Works, your first contact may be with the Public Works Administration  Division staff.  The Administration Division of Public Works provides a wide range of functions that directly support both the community and public as well as technical staff in Public Works at both the City Hall and Public Services Center facilities. 

The Administration Division is responsible for staff support services for six  Public Works Divisions, as well as central administration for the Department.  Additionally, the Division provides direct staff support to the Director of Public Works in responding to the inquiries from the public and City Manager's Office.

Examples of direct administrative responsibility for the Department are in finance, purchasing (including contract administration), personnel (including safety and risk Management), payroll, budgeting, training and development, and secretarial/reception.  Support is also provided for annualized special projects in such areas as Budget preparation,  Schedule of Service Charges, and Landscape Assessment District calculations.  The Public Works Administration  Division staff is also integrally involved in the computer operations for the Department, including the Enterprise Resource System, City Website development and maintenance, GIS and is responsible for the Military Banner Program.
