What is the Living Green Expo?
The City of Simi Valley presented its Seventh Annual Living Green Expo at the Simi Valley Town Center on Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

         The 2016 event featured:Living Green Expo Aerial

  • Dozens of green vendors
  • Fun and Free children's passport program find ten stations and get a prize
  • Simi Valley Police Department's Bicycle Safety Rodeo
  • Live entertainment at two stages
  • Public Works Showcase including Touch-A-Truck display
  • 2016 Arbor Day observance
  • Collection events

  • Eyeglasses at Info Booth for Lions Club
  • Cell phones at Info Booth
  • Paper (free on-site shredding, up to 3 boxes per car)
  • Blood Drive
  • Canned Goods for FOOD Share
  • Bed Blankets for Samaritan Center
  • Household Electronic Waste (E-Waste collection located down the street at 875 E. Cochran Street from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - E-Waste Collection benefits the Simi Valley Education Foundation )

Free Children's Activities-Passport Program

In 2016, nearly 25 free children's crafts and activities introduced kids to sustainable concepts in a fun way, focusing on the ecosystem and the role that humans, animals, and plants play to make the world go 'round.  Activities include no-cost arts and crafts, games, and hands-on activities, including a large Touch-a-Truck display!  Children collected stamps on a Living Green Expo Passport for each activity they participated in.  Collecting 10 passport stamps won prizes!

Bicycle Safety Rodeo

The Living Green Expo includes a free Bicycle Safety Rodeo sponsored by the Simi Valley Police Department for kids age 13 and under, included:Bicycle Safety Rodeo Participants

  • A safe helmet fitting with safety experts to make sure your helmet properly fits
  • A bicycle safety check by bicycle experts, who will check your tires, brakes, cranks, and chain
  • An obstacle course to test your riding smarts and skills
  • Free bicycle registration
  • Free child fingerprinting

Dance Group Performs with Little Girl HoistedEntertainment Stages
The Expo has two entertainment stages!  We have a Main Stage for big acts and performances, and a "green acoustic" stage for small combos and solo performers.  Contact us at if you are interested in performing LIVE!

2011 Living Green Expo Entertainment StageVolunteering at the Expo

The City values the help of our volunteers who perform a variety of tasks such as the setup and teardown of the Expo, and assisting with children activities. Join the fun at this community-wide event! Volunteers are needed throughout the day. Shifts will be either 2 or 3 hours in length. Youth who sign up will get community service credit.
