The Simi Valley City Council voted during its June 18, 2018 meeting to consolidate the City’s General Municipal Election with the Statewide General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the purpose of electing a Mayor for a term of two years and two City Council Members, each for a term of four years, and to submit to the voters a City measure and two advisory vote questions.
Nomination papers will be available from the City Clerk during the official nomination period, which commences on Monday, July 16 and closes on Friday, August 10. Should an incumbent choose not to file for re-election, the nomination period will be extended until Wednesday, August 15 for that seat only to allow additional time for voters to nominate candidates other than the incumbent.

The City Clerk’s office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Persons interested in running for either Mayor or City Council are encouraged to schedule an appointment to receive information and the nomination papers by calling the City Clerk’s Office at (805) 583-6748 beginning Monday, July 9, 2018.
